Week of craziness - will post more soon

Well, adjusting to a new house with 5 babies has been interesting. Last week was a really long week. I have some video that I will be putting up soon. I really want to try to put up 1 video per week to document how things are going. I have some good footage but I find that with work, baby feedings, and sleep, I don't have much time for anything else. I have some good stuff coming soon so I hope to post it within the next few days.

One thing that I have learned is that all diapers are not created equal. So far, the only reliable ones have been the Pampers Swaddler diapers. In many cases we have found that with other diapers, they simply leak. Today, someone picked up Kaydence because she was crying and found that with the amount of wetness surrounding her (we call the wetness "She-she"), she may as well have not even had a diaper on. On closer inspection, we found that the diaper she was wearing was not the type that we have found are reliable. I think things will change as they get bigger but right now, it seems that only those diapers work. This is something I didn't anticipate. I had thought that one diaper was pretty much the same as any other diaper. Now, I know that a diaper is only useful if it actually holds all the she-she in.

Anyway, sorry for the short and relatively uninteresting post. I really hope to put up some video soon because I have a lot of good stuff that I just need to get up there. I actually want to make a weekly 5 to 10 minute episode (sort of like a reality show) to put up on the blog. I have some ideas for it but I guess I will have to test it out. I have found so far that there is probably enough interesting stuff going on in our house to actually merit a weekly 5 to 10 minute video.

hello! i've been following your family's story since the quints were born. i love the names you've picked out for all your kids! :) i just wanted to write and say that i found it funny that you call pee-pee "she-she". that's how you pronounce it in japanese, although it is spelled "shi-shi". maybe they say it the same way in thai? well, good luck with everything!

Im happy to hear that things are going good. I can only imagen how interesting and crazy things really are at your house.

I have to agree on the pampers. I have 2 boys and they were the only ones I liked. I had the same problems with all the others. You might as well not even bother putting them on, so it seemed.

Stay with Pampers and you all should be pretty safe. Good luck and I cant wait for you to post the video. My sons will go nuts when they see it. They are 3 & 6 and we all have followed you all since just before the babies were born.

Can you recruit some volunteers to go exchange brands for you? As long as the package is not open, you can exchange for different size/brand. I found different brands worked better for boy/girl and as they grew it changed.......
    It is all an experiment!
Hang in there and pace yourself....
I so enjoyed meeting the babies and look forward to serving you more! What a blessing!!!! I am praying for all of you. HUGS

Yes, we had good luck w/ the Swaddlers until our twins put on some weight. Then, Huggies started working better. As long as the packages aren't opened, you should be able to exchange them, especially at places where you had a baby registry. We exchanged a LOT of diapers after we got the twins home.

We got hooked on the Swaddlers from the NICU that our twins were in. THEY ARE THE BEST - STICK WITH THEM! We just switched to size 3 so no more swaddlers here. We are in Pampers Baby Dry w/ Caterpillar flex and for this age (10 mths) they are great. Enjoy the non-mobile baby craziness!

Jayson--Fun to get an update. Although my seven kids came one by one, I remember that there was a time in my life when I realized that my universe centered WAY too much on the elimination habits of WAY too many people! Just remember, that this stage of your parenting shall also "come to pass." (Pun intended.) Looking forward to your videos. God bless the Wilkinson Nine!

it's good to hear from you guys. i can't imagine how crazy your life is right now...i can't wrap my mind around how you and rachelle manage to get any sleep and/or how either of you get through your respective work days in and out of the house. if you need a local volunteer to exchange diapers for pamper's swaddlers, drop me a line at lltanderson@gmail.com.

    can't wait for the videos!

I ditto the post about exchanging the unopened packages of other brand diapers. You can take them to Walmart and exchange them no-hassle without a receipt!

    Can't wait for the videos!

Just a quick hello from the Murray Quads. Sounds like you guys have a great start! You have one more baby, so that rachet's it up another notch, but for us, the sleep and feeding difficulties got much easier at around 3-4 months.

Good luck with the next few weeks, just survive this short period, and things only get easier from here. You can do anything on a full night sleep!

Definately exchange those! I can't remember the type that fit mine, but as others said, the brand that fits may change.
Goes along with: Once you figure out their schedules, it changes!

    Good luck with all.

LOVED the pampers swaddlers. I swore by them when we had Hannah.
